Chickadee Dance: Original Poem by The Forest Fairy

Chickadee Dance Poem by The Forest Fairy

This poem was written over the Christmas holidays back in 2011 when I stayed a few days at my parent’s house. I’d sit in the kitchen window watching the little birds dancing back and forth from the feeder to the trees. It was so cute and they inspired me to get my notebook out and write a little poem. I haven’t done that in ages as you can tell from the date of this poem! Maybe I’ll start writing a few new poems for later blog posts? I’m sure when spring rolls around it will give me lots to write about. Until then please enjoy this one.

Chickadee Dance
Written by Sarah Sabatini, December 29, 2011

The feeder is full
Over flowing with seeds
Little birds gather
Up high in the trees

Jump, skip and hop
They fly down to see
A glorious feast
Offered to thee

Chirping and singing
Swooping and flinging
They peck and they pick
And fly away quick

Puffed up and content
They return to the trees
Watching the feeder
For the return of the seeds
